In May 2007 I imported Mosegardens Calibra from Denmark, to teach me more advanced skills. Calibra was a former Grand Prix jumper. In dressage, he is a very solid 3rd level schoolmaster in the showring with me, an amateur rider. He also knows tempis and half pirouettes. When I purchased him, I was a "bouncy, handsy" 1st level rider, not very confident. One year after I purchased him, I ended up Reserve Champion at Midwest Championships, and 3rd place at USDF Region 4 Championships at 1st level. Last season, I was able to show him 3rd level with confidence. He has taught me so much!

His ideal new home will be another youth or amateur rider who is trying to learn 2nd, 3rd level and perhaps higher level riding. Calibra is such a patient teacher, and when you push the right buttons, his movement is very lovely and you really get the reward! A perfect amateur teacher.

Even though he is fully healed, he is not yet up to his previous working level because we are following the vet's recommendations, taking it slowly, and making sure he heals strong. Therefore, the perfect buyer would be someone who is willing to be patient with him through the next couple of months to work him through the rehab back up to 3rd level. Because he is not yet there, he will be priced accordingly. For a patient buyer, he's a great opportunity. I am willing to let a serious buyer talk directly to the vet to give reassurance about his good prognosis.
